I also have a question want to ask you. My parents are looking to remodel their old triplex and rebuild it into a four-plex. The current mortgage balance will be paid off within 3 years. They are wondering if they should wait until they paid off the house or should they refinance/cash out so they have the money to build a four-plex.  What do you think is a better strategy or any option/recommendation you have?

Hello BP community, my name is Antwan. I grew up in Columbia, SC, but moved to San Diego about 10 years ago right after college.  Currently I'm working for the Navy as an engineer. There are so much to learn about real-estate that i'm looking to learn and grown in this community. 

Currently I owned 3 houses. I'm house hacking on my primary residence and rented out the other two.   Through real estate, I'm hoping to achieve financial freedom.  I'm looking to expand my portfolio by investing not just in single family homes but also in multi-family units whether it's in South Carolina or Southern California.  I'm open to any and all suggestions/leads for a good areas to invest in and referrals for great local agent.
