I’m curious, are there inspections you would do when buying a multifamily property that you might otherwise not do on a single family?

Way to stay dedicated and reflect on lessons learned! On to the next!

Quote from @Stephanie P.:

It should be the other way around. Purchase with hard money so you get the acquisition at the highest ltv possible and all renovations covered with draws and then refinance to the DSCR loan with longest terms. DSCR loans typically have a prepayment penalty so doing it first wouldn't work. There are DSCR loans that you can use after just 6 months of ownership for the cash out using the new appraised value.

Hi Stephanie. Why do a refi to a DSCR loan as opposed to conventional?

Hey Soren, curious how this went for you? Did you end up buying a multi?

I invest in the Midwest but have always loved the idea of owning my own cabin up in Alaska. I’m always kind of looking around up there.

Yikes. Sounds fun. Was that tenant always like that and what background check/tenant screening did you do? Just curious.
Whenever I run the idea of renting out rooms, my wife kindly reminds me about stories like this.

If I'm buying a multifamily property can I use the income they would produce as STR's to pass the FHA self sufficiency test? The listing includes the amount each unit grossed with AirBNB last year.

Does anybody have any experience with the CMHA HCVP Voucher program in Cleveland and if so, can you share any advice on your experience?

I’d recommend self manage, your margins may not be as big as you think. Self managing taught me A TON about having tenants. There are many ways to learn that lesson but if you can save the $$ while your scaling, that would be my suggestion
