Hello BP,

I got my real estate license and I’m exploring my options as to which brokerage to join. The most important thing I’m looking for is mentorship and support to help me jumpstart my career in real estate. I’m looking at national and local brokerages. I’m located in DuPage County, IL and I look forward to hearing all your recommendations!

@Mark Ainley I currently have a career in the technical support/IT field so I'm looking for a brokerage that offers flexibility because I will be dual-career until I can one day replace that income by doing real estate full time.  Also looking for a broker that offers great mentorship to really jumpstart my career preferably in the DuPage County area and works with wholesale deals and investors. + Thank You for your help in advance Mark!

Hello everyone, I’m looking to wholesale real estate in Illinois and I already have my RE license. I’m just deciding on which brokerages would be best to go with.

I’m interviewing with 3 already in the next week or so but I’d love to get a few more recommendations especially if you have experience working with any of them!
I’m located in the DuPage County area.

Thank You

Quote from @Brenden Mitchum:

Hey @Anthony Parello, welcome to the BP community!

This is a great book to get you thinking on creative strategies. However, keep in mind when the book is written. The market was very different then. Fantastic book for motivation and encouragement but definitely lacks some current real world application. Not Brandon Turner's fault, necessarily, the book was just written in a different point in the market cycle.

This isn't to say these strategies don't work now but it will definitely take some real world experience and capital to best utilize them. And, much more time & energy than the book implies.

Disclaimer: I have not read the newer edition so hopefully that one is a little more applicable to current market realities! It's also been two years since I read the original and we all know how reliable memory is..

Like any book, take everything with a grain of salt & nothing as gospel, and you will garner plenty of value from it! And feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions or just want to chat!

I appreciate the insight and thank you for the warm welcome! Glad to be here!

I just picked up the Investing in Real Estate with no or little money down ebook! About to get started on chapter one, really excited to start reading and growing my real estate knowledge!

Anyone who has read this book already what are some things you loved about it and your biggest takeaways?
