@Jason Krasavage I’ve been renting out in the Avondale area and Airbnb in the Belmont Cragin area. Both of these area’s have been stable and great. I’ve been looking in Jefferson Park. Just speaking based on Airbnb you have a place that is in proximity to the ORD and Downtown vía the Blue line which is great. Jefferson Park is changing with new businesses building in the pipe line.

I think you’ll do fine. Make sure to vet every applicant.

I have been looking at properties in the west side and south side of Chicago that look very promising as a rental property. After talking to some real state agents about renting in the area they have warned me about placing money aside for evictions and legal fees. I will build a portfolio of rentals in Chicago. I am curious to know what other states that I can invest in that are more landlord friendly.

For me it has been the money to gather my first investment property.

Real estate is so attractive that it draws interest form almost everyone, but few people take the next step to commit to making it happen.

It ties into the John Assaraf quote - "If you're interested you'll do what's convenient (in this case like listen to podcasts, do some research, read a book...etc) but if you're truly committed you'll do whatever it takes (taking actions that have potential negative consequences, outside your comfort zone)."

Based on my local company in Chicago. We noticed an up tick in move outs in the areas of student housing. Due to the universities that forced students out of housing. But I don’t believe they will be leaving the city they will finish their leases and move out of downtown.
