@Aaron Christensen could you please? I've gotten a few recommendations but I've been comparing them all and will choose whatever works best. Thank you for your input!

Nathan Ornat

@David McErlean wow that was actually super helpful! I was actually a bit concerned about future tenants not being ok with a credit check to rent only a room rather than a house. I'm glad you brought up experian! Thank you for your input. Do you have a specific website that you recommend for a lease app?

@Jim D. I'll definitely check out SmartMove. Thank you for that!

@Chris K. I do understand that you are not MY lawyer, but the advice you gave was very helpful! Thank you so much! I will definitely have to check HOA rules and laws regarding renting rooms. I was speaking with a co worker that has a rental house and he advised me on the same thing. He had a friend that rented a room and almost had his house taken away because in his area HOA didn't allow it. Not sure how true all of that is but it absolutely opened my mind about HOA.

Venmo and law depot? I'll be sure to check those out. How about the credit check? Is there a secure website or something? Did you get an application form for them to fill out? If so, where did you find that specifically for room renting?

Hello BP,

I'm in the process of purchasing my first property. I plan on house hacking this single family home by renting out the extra rooms. I'm looking for a contract and a decent screening process. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to make this as legitimate as possible.

Thank you in advance!
