Quote from @Niall Clancey:

I have been doing research on both areas to try and find my first deal -either a house hack or buy and hold.

I'm curious to hear from the bigger pockets community - where would you invest?

Is anyone invested in both cities? If so, which do you like more and why?

Choose both.

They both are affordable and not far from each other.

Hello, any recommendations for a real estate bookkeeper in Columbus Ohio? Not looking for someone to file taxes, but rather someone to manage all invoices and input into P&L statements for my CPA. Thanks.

Jaime

 Hello @Jaime Bott

You or your property manager should be handling all the invoices that you can send over to your CPA to do the rest.

I can share some CPA referrals here in Columbus

I am an out of state investor looking to invest in/around Columbus, OH area. Targeting single family homes with the price point of upto 400k. I am okay with break even cash flow. Which areas to target for potential appreciation/good rental demand?

A few good areas to target are North Linden, East Linden, Whitehall, Pataskala, Grove City, Franklinton, and Westerville.

Quote from @Ken Livingston:

Hello all. NJ resident here who is looking for an out of state area to do some investing. My area is just too damn expensive. I have done a lot of reading and research and Columbus has definitely caught my eye. I already have a realtor as well as finance and Insurance people I have had conversations with there.  I am looking is the small multifamily or single family areas to start.

I guess what I am basically asking for is for opinions to sell me either way.

Have I picked a good area or am I a fool and should restart my search in another area?

If you're looking for long term appreciation, then you've picked a great market. We have it all! Development, low unemployment, growing population, one of the largest universities in the country, housing demand, central hub within a 6-hour drive of at least 6 other major metropolitan areas, and last but not least, great food options!

Hello future partners! My name is Eb’Oney I’m a new investor in Cincinnati, I live out of state. I looking to network with a few other investors so I could learn the market and bring you some value as well! I was just wandering what neighborhoods do you like to invest in?  What title companies do you like to use?

I would suggest you consider joining the Cincinatti REIA group (https://www.cincinnatireia.com/). They are very active, there to help, and have plenty of great contacts to get you started

Quote from @Michael Nesteruk:

I am both excited and nervous to be exploring real estate investing in Central Ohio and beyond.

Central Ohio, especially Columbus, is great! Home to The Ohio State University with nearly 60,000 students, 5 Fortune 500 companies, over +25% population change since 2000, and the 2016 smart city challenge award winner (https://www.columbus.gov/smartcity/). Furthermore, Intel is spending 20 Billion dollars to build two semiconductor plants, and many more great things presently and coming in the future. Needless to say, Columbus will remain a strong real estate market for the foreseeable future.
