Its our personal house - we bought it from folks who owned it for ~6 months to flip it. And while it looks pretty good and much improved, there is more than a few pieces of evidence that it was flipped quickly/a little carelessly (we knew this going in from the home inspection, but its a huge sellers market and were willing to take the risk and additional work ourselves). Including the debris in back yard.  So yes, I agree with Rick - it is the flipper's reputation on the line, and I won't recommend the contractor-owner who flipped this house to anyone ;).

I may not have been on the ideal forum for this question, but appreciate the replies!

Well, we'd love a lower budget/DIY option, but would consider patching over it for a bit until we could save enough for a better or more permanent fix.

Hi everyone - new to the forums.  My husband and I recently bought a house that was flipped.  We're in a very very hot seller's market, and it seems our house was a bit of a hasty flip with some corners cut (we knew this going in from the inspection report, which the sellers refused to negotiate at all - again, big seller's market - and did expect other things to pop up).

One item that we're dealing with is a backyard that has a lot of 'junk' hidden in it.  From pictures, it looks like the original owners had all sorts of junk in the back yard, and the flippers certainly cleaned up much of it. However, it looks like there was some parts where earth was moved around, partly burying the junk at the edges of the yard (house backs up to forest) rather than cleaning up the trash. Extension cords, bits of plasticchairs, bubble wrap, etc. are partly buried in about a 20' region of the back yard.  What's the best way to clean it all up? Do we have to get someone to come remove the whole lot of it (this would probably require additional grading) Shovel and pick through it ourselves? Completely bury it under additional dirt?  Any ideas would be a big help!
