Wow, arbitrage and Las Vegas. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Will be looking for MTR instead! Thanks for the good tips Michael!

Quote from @Zach Edelman:

Always a good idea to check Facebook when it comes to local community STR stuff like this.

 Definitely will, thanks zach!

Quote from @Stephen DeThample:

Just be aware that it is illegal without a permit. They are currently not taking applicants. So you would be risking $1000 a night fines if caught. There are 9000ish illegal STRs here, I know 3 people who have been shut down in the last 6 months.

Rent out the extra rooms instead.

Hey Stephen! Noted. I'll definitely be looking into the MTR area while seeing if I can apply myself to the STR area. Thanks!

Quote from @Bill B.:

If you are truly in Las Vegas (not north Las Vegas) I think you'll be denied a permit and fined excessively if you try to do STR. You'll need to switch to MTR. I BELIEVE they only allow STR in owner occupied properties.

Hey bill! I appreciate the insight, i'll definitely be looking into it, thank you!

Hello Las Vegas BP people! I am trying to connect with anyone that has some information regarding short term rentals here in Las vegas. I have a rented home with now fully furnished rooms and all, and want to see what I could do now that I have the permission of the landlord to do as I like! I’d love to connect and get any feedback or tips! Thank you!

Hello BP goers! I’ve been brought an opportunity to Airbnb a house from a family member, and I’m going to be basically “renting” it out but I was given the thumbs up for the Airbnb. I see that I have to renovate, furnish, and make it seem appealing , but aside from that, any other tips or crucial advice that I need?

Thanks!

I would get a 0% down credit-card. You will most likely need 10-15k based on the size of the property and how you want to furnish it. I have a list of crucial items on an excel spreadsheet that are crucial to getting started. Let me know if I should send that your way.

By all means, That would be great! I’d love to check it out!

Do a search @Andy Perez. You are short term renting the house, not AirBNBing it. AirBNB is a platform where you list your short term rental.

Just start reading the forum and that will get you most of the way there. There is so much information that there is no way to explain it all here.

Also, are you sure you can STR that house? Las Vegas has a lot of restrictions within the city.

I’ve looked into the locations available, and it’s said that as long as it’s not located within the area code of the casinos! But will do, I’ll see what I can dig up here, thanks!
