@Andrea Ives welcome! If I could do it over again I definitely would have tried to "house hacked" my first property.

If you haven't read it already, I would certainly recommend Brandon Turner's "The Book on Rental Property Investing". Although most of the information in the book can be found elsewhere online, having it all organized in one place for easy reference is very useful!

Best of luck in your endeavors!

@Sean Snider welcome! I too just recently started jumping in on the BP forums. I agree with you that the BP community is an amazing resource. I especially enjoy listening to the podcasts during my commute. I'm in a similar situation with 1 SFR and looking to grow my portfolio.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!

Greetings everyone!

My name is Andrew Fredrickson. I'm a mid 20's software engineer by day, a platoon leader in the Army on the weekends (guard), and a FI/RE/investment enthusiast 24/7 (yes, I often dream about investments)! I have one rental deal under my belt and am looking for the second. Currently seeking SFH and/or small multi-family deals. My goal is to quite the JOB and be doing RE investing full-time within the next 5 years.

Been an avid follower of BP for a while now. Realized I needed to stop just reading/learning and start engaging the community and taking action if I wanted to grow faster. As Tony Robbins said so well, "Knowledge is not power...it is potential power. Action is power."

Maybe see some of you Chicagoland people at local REI events!

All the best,

Andrew
