It depends on what your investment strategy is.They are good sites Zillow.com claims that they have over 3,000,000 listings Trulia.com does not publish this, but I am sure it is a large number.

Well this also involves how much $$s one has to invest. Also its no use having a property in just any place especially if your primary business is not Real Estate Investment.

With regars to finding the best places to buy properties... I think with so many short sale properties coming in the market these days CA & Nevada can be good regions to invest in.

Wow.. Now thats what I call a perfect deal. No wastage of time. Now I feel like an idiot spending weeks to finalize a deal.

Great idea. Here are my suggestions:

Valerie Fitzgerald, author, Beverly Hills real estate broker

Sam Zell, some real estate guy from Chicago

William J. Poorvu -- Harvard Professor of Real Estate, investor/developer

R. Donahue Peebles -- Wash, DC-based developer

Jim Randel -- author, 'Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur', real estate attorney, investor/developer

BP's own John Holdman, Mike Oh, Rich Weese, Nick Johnson, Will Barnard, Stephani and Frank Gallinelli

George H. Ross, real estate attorney, Senior Counsel, The Trump Organization

Donald Trump, some real estate guy from New York

Roger Staubach, Founder, The Staubach Company

Barbara Corcoran, Founder, The Corcoran Group

Bruce Norris, Founder, The Norris Group, investor, educator

That list should be a good start.

Wow that would make out to be an interesting read. For myself I think its much better to know what the people in general to say about it. I would also like to get some inputs from the Market watchers. Maybe someone from famous real estate sites like Realtor.com or Trulia.com could be tricked into giving their comments :)

In addition to the "RE is local" hedge, I'll apply the "black swan hedge". Any sort of major disruption - more financial fallout, terrorist attack, another war, who knows - and all bets are off.

I don't think your 10% here and there estimate is based on facts. Real estate market is fluctuating right now and it will take some time before things become stable again. [LINK REMOVED] are also cautious in their approach after the slowness in the [LINK REMOVED] which has seen rates for the luxurious property fallen down quite significantly recently.

Even I would like to participate in the discussion but not sure if you need to have some kind of expertise in the field for that?

I'm not sure yet as the Portugese have yet to express any grievances over the canine choice.

I am sure grievances from there must be coming soon.

I agree. Life is way too stressful. I always try to find humor in every situation no matter how dark. Sometimes is sarcastic humor that a lot people may find offensive but hey, that makes it even funnier

No doubt sarcastic humor has its own taste, it is different. All we need a good "LOL" at the end.
