@Monica Smith thanks for sharing your insight. You make me want to take a trip up soon! And that's awesome the income from your STR has been able to replace some of your husband's income. I know that the Tahoe market for STR is unlike any other and I personally have never stayed in a hotel while visiting. King's Beach has grown a ton. WHich brokerage are you with out of curiosity?

@Shelby Pracht I can definitely see who the mammoth lakes area is such a draw for people. Do you self manage all 9 units?

@Melanie Hartmann you spelled "Lose" wrong  on your site, just one O. May turn folks off.

@Gino Barbaro I definitely agree and that is some impressive scaling in 5 years. No two people’s strategies are exactly the same but thanks for sharing yours!

@Matthew McNeil haha thanks, my other post did pretty well too. I’m on here a lot but just started jumping in with questions I see lacking. A lot of people ask the same questions over and over but I love hearing from all the folks who are far more experienced than I. These forums are a gold mine if you ask the right questions. Thanks to all who have been sharing.

@Terrell Garren love the fishing analogy. That is a good way to look at using leverage in easier deal finding times and cash when markets are tougher. Thanks for sharing your strategy with a 33 year old trying to figure things out!

@Mike Dymski what a great quote! Comes back to your “why” and that goes for anything in life but certainly investing. I know I love real estate (always have) but at a certain point I will definitely ease up. For me, it’s all about affording the best life possible for me and my young family, I value my time with my wife and son so much.

@Ryan D. Interesting strategy, my buddy and I are considering that approach for acquisition.

@Mike B. Sounds like you have your priorities set. I have a toddler and it’s all about striking that balance and planning for our future and luckily my wife is fully onboard as well.
