Thanks @Austin M Margarida! I live about 75 minutes from Downtown Jax so once I narrow down my target neighborhoods, I plan to just drive around and get familiar with the streets and inventory.

I appreciate your input!

Hi — This is my first post and I’d love to pick the brains of all the Jacksonville, Florida REIs.

I'm considering investing in one or two SFH, MFH or condo/townhouses in the JAX area.

I saw another forum member posting this grading framework for neighborhoods:

A - Most desirable areas. Usually good schools, very low crime.

B - Good area. Very desirable but not the highest price points in the city. Lower end B would tend to be the nicest working-class neighborhoods.

C - Solidly working class. Still safe generally speaking but more of a mix of lower and higher crime.

D - Places I don't plan to spend a lot of time in.

If you’re familiar with any of these areas, could you tell me how you’d grade them? And, any spots you particularly like and why? Any duds?

Murray Hill

Avondale

Riverside

San Marco

Southbank

St. Nicholas

East Arlington

Springfield

Argyle Forest

Cedar Hills

Oretga

I’m just starting to figure out what communities to search in and appreciate any input. Thanks!

I'm a newbie investor in the Amelia Island, Florida area. I'm researching single-family and multifamily properties for rental purposes.
