About 8 months in after construction, this unit got flagged as a mandatory ADA.  They did allow me to have the option of termination and get my earnest money back but I decided to proceed.

Need some advice... Closing on a new construction condo Austin, TX (2 miles from dtown) that I got under contract 1.5 years ago. Upon few months after execution of purchase agreement my unit ended up being flagged as an ADA unit. It was stated, not much is going to change besides entrance size, removable cabinets, countertops, etc.

Today when doing a walk through, I noticed I don't have a kitchen pantry closet. Of course there are some other positives, I get a full size washer/dryer instead of stackable like other units, wider doors, etc. Any recommendations on how you would address this? I was one of the early adopters, so have already made significant equity. Is this something to be of a concern from a rental perspective.

~717 sqft, 1/1. Assigned parking spot, 1 storage unit on same floor (Only unit that has this) washer/dryer, Fridge and pool facing.... ADA Unit. Only one other ADA unit.

Anything to be concerned on?  I purchased it for $265k, same unit is going for $395k.  Little irritated this happened but trying to be positive.

One of my own rentals, the tenant who had a small business after 3 months within the lease wanted to terminate early due to Covid.  Ended up putting it on market, and got someone within 2 days.  Leasing seems to be strong here still.  (Austin, TX).  Keep in mind, this house is 10 mins from dtown, so not sure if that matters.

Hello Bigger Pockets,

So I co-own few investment properties in Austin, TX. I've been going back and forth with putting it on an LLC, and all the bad stuff that comes with it and decided not to. So I'm trying to get a umbrella policy but I'm getting denied because I do not own it myself. Apparently there is some grey area since I own it with someone else. Any company out there that can help with this?
