Hi,

I am an Investor (Wholesaler) here in Chicago and I am preparing to take my Real Estate License exam here in Illinois. Can anyone recommend a good Commercial friendly broker that I may consider working under; I would like to stay on the investing side, however I am not opposed to working on the Realtor side of things in the Commercial world as I have taken a really strong interest in that area of real estate. I would love to learn more about that side of investing.

Thanks,

Marcell

I am an Investor here in Chicago and I say YES get it. I am in the process of getting my license next month & all reasons point towards a license being in your favor. Things you may have to bug an agent to do will be eliminated because you have  access to what they have and you'll save money on deals.

Is that it? hahaha just messing with you.  STL is a great city to invest in, real estate is very good here right now, low inventory and higher asking prices. I belong to a couple of great and FREE real estate investment clubs in the area. If your interested in attending a meeting and saying hi and networking with others private message me and I will give you details.

Good luck on the move and I look forward to seeing you around town!

Hi Everyone,

I am a Chicago Investor. Recently over the past few months my girlfriend and I decided we are going to move to Missouri due to cost of living here in Chicago, a new experience, better weather etc. Also we didn't want to stray too far away from home as I will also stay investing in Chicago which is only 5 hours away driving. I am looking to network & build great relationships with any and all Investors in St. Louis or Missouri as a whole as I become familiar with the area. I welcome any and all advice.

Thank you,

Marcell Minor

I would say YES invest in real estate as early and as often as possible. I am 29 and got my Masters degree last year. Real estate will help pay of Student loan debt (If you have any) extremely fast depending on your strategy. so YES invest now. Educational resources I use are BP, BP books (ALL OF THEM), youtube, google , BP Podcasts, REI meetings and plain networking. Listening to a guru is fine to a point, they only want to sell information so when they start talking like that, leave....Most of them don't invest successfully which is why they are selling and regurgitating info. Utilize the best FREE university to date "Youtube, Google and BP"

Remember, the way to get people to work with you, is to view it from their side and present a viable solution that makes sense to them!

I learn this lesson from an experience investor I met at a local REI Club here in Chicago. When I learned a few key things by listening and talking to more experience investors, my own career took off. I dropped the GURU learned crap and suddenly, I was investing and not just saying I was one.

Thank you@DaleStevens You are absolutely right & I really appreciate that advice and will use it going forward. I do have 2 realtors on my team, however lately I think I've been approaching the newer ones incorrectly. I think I will exercise the option of getting my license and use it in my own investing business & become the 3rd realtor on my team.

Hi all,

I am a Wholesaler from Chicago, IL and I am looking for an REO agent or any good suggestions. The Agents I have contacted on my own sometimes don't even know what Wholesaling is in Real Estate. I am grateful for any help or suggestions.
