@Mike Bator

How’s this going for you, have you developed more cabins? Did the snowball effect happen as you had hoped?

Just curious, I have a property that’s lakefront & has 5 acres by Big Lake that I’m building a cabin.. And wanting to build at least 6 cabins or more on the property. It had road access, but all off-grid..

@Jake Young

I’m right there with ya, I’m a born Alaskan and will be 46 in April.

I'd keep it, do a little cash out refinance if you wanted to regain some of the $, and just rent it out or STR it and make some money on it..

Appreciation always goes up, and a few years down the line (and/if interest rates come back down you could pull even more $ out Tax free!)

I’m a family man also with a couple teenage kids,, I feel if I can get more properties now, it’ll help my kids to own & live in one of those properties that they wouldn’t be able to afford 1,2,3, or 4 decades from now when I am gone.. Prices will be crazy high then but we get/hold them now we can benefit from it and also pass them onto our kids.

Hey Jamie,

We, OverWatch Real Estate Management, manage properties in Anchorage. I will send you a PM with my info. Even if you stick with the current PM feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

I can vouch for Chris @ Overwatch REM, he manages a couple properties of mine and does an excellent job, he’s a good honest guy & haven’t had any problems.

Hi Cam, I'm here in Anchorage also!  Although I haven't been able to get any properties lately, I just have 10 doors which Chris Smock is doing a great job at managing them.  Working on upgrading my business currently, so I need to conserve some cash until this fall.  Then maybe I can get into some more properties.  If not, I have a few other business ideas that have a far cash on cash return.

Sorry, I don't know any good contractors, and I've been out of construction for a while, so I don't have contact with guys that do construction & can get a cheap price for them to do sidework.

Can't wait for all this snow to Melt!

@Kaiden Foster

I've been thinking of getting a property for a STR. I'm gone during the summer, peak times, so it'd be hard for me to do.

I have friends that keep them booked year-round and are doing good.

Wanna chat on here or PM me to give me more details?
