The little window is to a garage, it's completely finished on the inside. The weird glass/mesh deal was put on over the brick exterior and is tied into the house at the top.

I am looking at a new property and came across this on the back side of the house( don't know right off hand which direction this is facing). I'm not sure what exactly it is, someone suggested solar panels but I really don't think it is. I figure before I do anything do it I should figure out exactly what it is. Any ideas?

It might be hard to see in the picture, but behind the glass is like a metal mesh running through it. It looks like whatever this is, it is built into the house.

Okay guys, this thread sort of seems to be dead...

I really want to get together with some local like minded individuals, whether experienced or just starting off. I created a facebook group, Tri-cities real estate investors. Everyone that has already posted in this thread or has been lurking should join the group and hopefully we have an easier time coordinating a group meet-up. By all means please feel free to join up if you are experienced and tell any of friends, new or experienced to the group, this group is by no means exclusive to anyone in this thread or for newbies only.

Any update on this get together? It would be nice to have a couple seasoned investors involved too ;)

Right before I saw the additional responses I got off the phone with a Realtor who also told me this auction was a note; this is exactly why auction.com needs to improve the clarity of its auctions.

So what is the significance of having a sheriff in addition to the quit claim, does that normally assume that all past obligation have been wiped?

The property is a SFR in mid michigan, so not sure about the multi-state deal.

For whatever reason, on this property there is no contact information for anyone and no listing agents. I did call the auction.com contact number and the person told me that they are not allowed to disclose anything more than what is on the listing.

Like mentioned before I am not overly familiar with notes. Can I still attempt title insurance to make sure there are no other liens or does the sheriff's deed imply that those were eliminated?

I did look up the property sale history and it shows a sale from party A to party B in 1993 for a LC/Land contract and in 2009 a repeat of the sale once again with the same parties and same dollar amount but a WD/Land contract; does this seem normal?

I was looking at a property on auction.com and was curious about some of the details surrounding it. I noticed part of the description stated " This property will be conveyed vial an Assignment of Interest in Sheriff's Deed and Quit Claim Deed (Michigan) and an Assignment of the Sheriff's Certificate (Minnesota).". Does this sound like it is indeed a note?

I am not extremely familiar with notes, but would still like to go through with acquiring this property. Also I am not sure how it would affect things, but the mortgagor actually passed away recently.

Thoughts?

I actually think that what I have might be a note. If I am wrong someone please correct me, but I will be moving this topic over to the correct sub forum. If you have any input or experience in this type of deal please feel free to pm me.
