Hi,

I am newbie. I am from Canada. I am currently living and working in China. I want to buy real estate in order to get rental income. I was thinking to invest in my first property in China. I have some questions.

Q1: What is your opinion of foreigners investing in real estate in China? Do you recommend foreigners invest in real estate in China?

Q2: What is the bad or good experience of doing so? What sources do you use to know about real estate investing in China for foreigners?

Q3: How is the property rights for foreigners in China? Are the property laws generous for foreigners?

Q4: How to get a loan? What kind of loan can I get as a foreigner? Which loan do you recommend?

Q5: How to build up a credit score as a foreigner in China? I know credit score is important if you want to get a loan.

Thank you so much.

What are the cons of investing overseas? What do I have to do to invest in real estate overseas? What resources and books did you use  to be able to invest overseas? Also, do you recommend newbies or young people to invest in real estate overseas?  Thank you so much for your time and consideration in reading this message.

Hi,

I am a Canadian expat. I never invested in real estate. I want to create a real estate portfolio that will support me for retirement. Unfortuantley, I am planning to live in different countries. So I will not stay in one country for too long. So I will need a property manager( a good one) to manage my properties for me as I will be too busy on my work or be in another country.  Do you know of good books that I can read regarding investing real estate as an expat or investing in real estate in abroad? Do you know where I can find a list of countries to avoid investing in real estate? Which countries do expats typically invest? What properties do expats typically invest? Do you know which books/sources for finding a good property managers? Are property managers necessary in this case? Do you know of real estate investors who are expats whom I can follow on Youtube or can talk to?  Thank you so much for your help.

Hi, I am from Canada. I never invested before. I want my first investment to be real estate as it can produce monthly income. I have read that people use real estate to help  them during retirement instead of relying on a retirement plan like 401 K or RRSP. I was thinking to get real estate to fund my retirement.

I will be working as an English teacher in China this year. My plan is to work in different countries. So I will work 2-3 years in China, 2-3 years in Japan, 2-3 years in Thailand, etc.  I do not want to live in Canada anymore because I want to live  in other countries.

I was thinking to buy real estate in Canada and  other countries that I will be living in.  I do not want to sell them. The only problem is that I have to hire somebody to look after the property and to collect rent for me. The problem with hiring a property manager is that there is a high risk of deceiving you. Unfortunately, there is not many trustworthy people. However, property manager is the only answer because I will not know anybody in that country.

Q1: Based on my goals and my concern with property managers, is it worth me investing in real estate? What investments I should consider instead? I am looking for investments that can support me for retirement.

Q2: Do you know where I can find reputable, trustworthy property managers? Is it recommend to get property managers?

Thank you so much for your time and consideration in reading this message.

Dear Moderator: Can you hide my name?  I do not want my name to be shown in the discussion. I do not where I can use a fake name on this site. Thank you so much.

I am Canadian university student. I want to invest in real estate in different countries. I never invested before. I never invested in real estate. I do not have a lot of money.  I want to live in a different country just for 1-3 years and move to another one. I want to travel the world.   I want to buy real estate for retirement and not to depend on a job.  I want to charge rent to people. I want to get a monthly income from the real estate. I do not want to sell the real estate.

Q1: Do you recommend I hire someone to take care of the property, to collect the rent, and to find tenants ? How do you find such trustworthy people or organizations?  Do you recommend that I buy property close to where I live?  The problem is I do not want to live in that country for too long.

Q2: What is the minimum amount of money should I spend on real estate? Should I start small or large?

Q3: What properties do you recommend I start with? Apartments, single family homes, multi-family homes, etc.

Q4: I do not have money nor assets. I do not want to use my family's money or their assets as collateral for a mortgage. What do I if I do not have money and I do not have assets that I can use as a collateral for a mortgage?

Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this message.
