As far as Index fund investing goes, id recommend checking out SOFI or Fidelity somewhere where you can buy fractional shares of index funds ie SPY QQQ. At 31 i am still using fractional share investment to add to my index fund positions. Even if you can only 20 in every other week, through those 4 years of college your money is compounding and working for you. Just remember if and when you do pull it out to start investing in real estate account for capital gains taxes.

Side note: I am jealous and think its amazing to already be thinking about investments and real estate at 18, you are way ahead already. Good luck!

My area of orange county (irvine, costa mesa, tustin) is still very hot most of my friends looking to buy are being outbid with cash offers going 50k over asking price, but i think itll always be like that out here.

Whats up BiggerPockets family,

Im based in Irvine, CA. Cant afford to invest in Irvine so im looking at different options but haven't determined a specific area yet still in my learning phase.

Goals for joining are to further my education and build a network of like minded people.

Fun fact about me: I drove across country this year from CA to GA!
