Post: Quick question on my beginning strategy

I am a new investor, with basically no cash, and my strategy right now is to start flipping to build some cash up and then to eventually go into buy and hold strategy for long-term wealth.

My plan is to read the book on biggerpockets that is for sale on House Flipping, and also if I can find a mentor ( where I will of coarse help out in doing free labor or whatever I can to learn the business). If I do not find a mentor then I will just keep reading on BP, after I read the book of coarse.

After reading I will definitely jump into the water with both feet. I may have a partner in mind to help go 50/50 in the first flipping deal also. So I will not have to take on the entire loan. I plan to take out a loan from a bank to finance the first FLIP, i always read bout Hard money and OPM but all of that comes with vERY VERY HIGH INTEREST RATE or knowing someone who will be willing to drop cash with some body with no experience or track record (I do not have the luxury of knowing someone).

Anyway I am here to take any advice on my journey and I am excited!!! Glad I know that I will start flipping and then eventually buy and hold. Can't wait to read the book and can't wait to post an update on what I feel like I have learned from the book.

Take care everyone!!

Brandon Turner Thanks for the links, I am going to read those today. I have finished reading the Ultimate beginners guide and thought it was very helpful in giving a foundation.

I am kind of split on what type of investing I want to get into. I have always wanted to do Buy and Hold strategy since I can remember. After reading more about Flipping, I'm starting to think it would be a good idea to start off flipping to build some cash and then eventually get into the buy and hold strategy.

I just see buy and hold strategy as long-term investing, which is what I love for long-term goals but for the "now", I feel that flipping can help me head towards Buy and hold strategy

Any Advice???

I want to introduce myself, my name is Alex and I am excited to have discovered this website! I am just now starting to educate myself in the REI world. Once I finish reading a couple of books and going over this website I plan on purchasing my first REI. My biggest fear, and i'm sure many others have the same is not having enough cash to put a down payment on a home/apt/condo etc... to start.

I am very interested in learning how to start with OPM.

Look forward to meeting some of the other Dallas Fort Worth Investors in the future! Take care everyone!
