I plan to hold it for the long term. I'm more interested in turn-key since I don't have a crew in the area.

Hi all,

I am looking at picking up some small brownstone townhomes and wondering what people think of these areas of Baltimore from a landlord perspective. How difficult is it to place tenants? Get contractors? Deal with the city? And what do you see as longer-term prospects for the area?

My interest in Baltimore are several:

- It is close to my home in Laurel

- It was featured in some recent reports as being even better for rental income than Atlanta

- There is some investor activity around Hollins Market and U. Md. nearby

- There is long-term talk of high-speed rail between Baltimore and DC

Anybody have any experience in this area or these neighborhoods that they would like to share?

Interested in any thoughts on which areas of Baltimore are best for buy-and-hold investors, and unique issues in B'more versus other areas. My experience so far has been very good down in Atlanta. Hoping to continue the roll up here.
