Here are three key tips to consider when buying a short-term rental in the Poconos:

Bedroom Count:  What size home are you curious about purchasing? How many bedrooms should it have? Would your design choices change based on the number of guests you’re hosting?

Amenities: Is your property near popular attractions like lakes, hiking trails, ski resorts, or pools? If not, consider adding on-site amenities that make your rental a attraction in itself, so guests don't have to leave to find the fun!

Design: Many visitors come from Philly and NYC, looking for a break from urban life. Tailor your design to create an escape that immerses them in the nature and relaxation that they are missing out on!

Engaging with the Poconos Visitor Bureau event at the Kalahari Resorts Conventions Center on Tuesday night was fantastic. The strong support behind the creation of the Amtrak train by 2028 has garnered lots of attention from property owners and investors alike.  I am confident this will positively affect how tourists view the Poconos as this is a direct connection between two major attractions the Poconos and NYC. I am excited to hear your perspectives on what type of impact this will have on the Poconos.

I am Alec Santiago, I wanted to break down the importance of communication with guests for short term rentals, to give a little insight into my experience I am a Area Manager overseeing 100+ Poconos short-term rentals and a seasoned realtor. My experience on short term rentals is what helped me notice the importance of communication within this business. To bring your str to the next level having high levels of communication can be a huge benefit to ensure guest satisfaction. It may seem obvious but if a guest needs assistance with a heating issue at 3am, being able to answer would make your str stand out! (It may sound simple but this factor is frequently overlooked)
