@Raymond Reyes @Scott Wolf

I'm up in the area quite a bit for work (i do software sales) and noticed some up and coming areas or areas that are being revitalized. Kingston & Poughkeepsie are two that I am currently looking into. I've started my research and found that based off what I'm learning here on how to analyze deals and making sure the numbers work, there really are some good deals to be had. I like Kingston bc it has a high percentage of the population that rents and an overall low vacancy rate. The taxes aren't as high as other areas in the Hudson Valley and home values have continued to appreciate. Seeing how I want to buy and hold long-term rentals...these are all things that I've been taking into consideration.

Based on your experiences...any thoughts, insight or suggestions?

What areas do you invest in? Is there anything else I should really be taking into consideration while looking in this area?

@Abel Curiel Thanks so much for the reply! I live in Astoria. I see you have an event coming up on the 22nd. I'll unfortunately (or fortunately) will be in San Diego that week for work. Please do keep me posted on any other future events as I'd love to attend. In the meantime, I appreciate the offer...I am all for connecting and chatting!

@Account Closed Thanks to you as well for the reply. In all honesty, it's not something that I've given much thought to. That being said however, it is something that I'm certainly open to learning more about.

Hey everyone! My name's Anthony and I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as I plan to be an active member here on BP. I'm looking to start investing in small multi-family rentals in New York. I've started my initial search for my first property in the Hudson Valley area of New York.

I'm 35 and I work & live in NYC. I was a homeowner at the age of 24 down in FL. I've since sold that property but fell in love with real estate at that point. Now, 10 years later...I'm at a place in my life where I ready to take the next step and focus on making my real estate investing dreams a reality.

I'm looking forward to learning and getting to know my fellow members here on BP. I appreciate all the information and knowledge you all share.
