Hi Marc. I agree with you. I will be looking at markets outside of New York. I am looking at markets in the Southeast like Atlanta Georgia, Charlotte North Carolina, Greensboro North Carolina. I am also looking at Dallas Texas, San Antonio Texas and Houston Texas. I will keep you posted.

Hello Joshua,

I am new to multifamily family investing. So I don't have the real world experience or the finances. As far as education, I have looked at a few courses with Susan Lassiter-Lyons, Peter Harris, Lance Edwards, Michael Blank and others. For me the courses have good information, but it always seemed like something was missing. These courses are teasers so the instructors can offer their mentoring programs for $10k to $20k a pop. I don't have that kind of money laying around and buying course after course gets expensive.  There is so much information out there. How do you know which course is the best?

I decided the best way to learn this business is to talk to the people that are actually investing in multi-family properties. So I reached out on bigger pockets to look for mentoring and get advise from anyone who is willing to help this new investors learn about multifamily investing without costing me a small fortune. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I am interested in investing in large multifamily apartments. Any knowledge that the good people on this site are willing to share is greatly appreciated.

Hi Chantal. Welcome to BP my fellow Brooklynite😀

Hello Kasan. It's good to meet a fellow Brooklynite. What areas of real estate are you interested in? As far as networking goes, go to the BP home page and click on the community tab. In the drop down window click on "Networking Event" and you will see all the upcoming events for September.

Congratulations! Continued success in the future..

I will be attending the Brooklyn/Queens networking meet up on Sept 21. Looking forward to meeting my fellow investors.

Hey Daniel,

Which meet ups are you referring to?

Greetings Bigger Pockets,

My name is Anthony Greene from Brooklyn, NY. I am looking to meet like minded individuals who invest in multi-family properties (10 units+) in NYC. I believe that investing in income producing properties is one of the best ways to achieve financial freedom.  My goal is to start in NYC and then begin acquiring income producing properties across the country. In the end, I want to build a portfolio that creates generational wealth and leaves my children a legacy they can be proud of. So I am reaching out to the Bigger Pockets community to help this new investor learn how to invest the right way and reach my goals. By the way, lunch is on me.

Best,

Anthony Greene
