Post: Where to stash future investment savings?

Hello BP,

I am saving money for my first investment property and would like to hear recommendations as to where this money should be stored until ready for use?

I had the idea of saving the money in an ETF that tracks the S&P 500, but is this too risky? Another option of course would be a high interest savings account, but unfortunately that interest is about .50% for most savings accounts right now. Any input would be truly appreciated!

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello BP,

I am setting my goals for 2021 (I know I know a little late) and trying to set a goal for how much I should save up for my first rental property. What is the lowest, average, and highest percentage of down payment that can be made in TX on an investment property?

I have never bought a home, and do not plan on living in the property.

Thank you!

Aaron

Hey @Blaine Alger ,

Thank you for this feedback. I like your input on avoiding the cliche of “will you be my mentor” and replacing it with, “how can I bring value to you?” It seems to establish more of a mutually beneficial relationship as opposed to me getting something for nothing in return.

Best of luck to you finishing up at Baylor, I will keep in touch!

Thanks again,

Aaron

Hey @Karlo Alamo ,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing this feedback! I finished Rich Dad Poor Dad not too long ago, it was excellent and really opened up my mind to financial literacy. I will need to check out the rental series by Brandon Turner and also need to improve on getting out of my comfort zone with networking. Thanks again and I’ll send a connect invite!

Excellent questions @Jeremy Wirths !

My efforts have consisted of getting in touch with friends who are active in real estate investing, as well as posting on here twice seeking mentors. This most recent post has gotten better feedback!

I will certainly take into action local meetups and keyword alerts. If you have any further input or if there is a way I can provide value to your goals/business please let me know and I’d be more than happy to connect.

Best,

Aaron

Good afternoon BP!

I am beginning my RE journey.

If you have experience in Real Estate I would be THRILLED to connect and learn from you. Please reach out and we can connect.

I have listened to about 10 of the podcasts and made the decision I will invest in Real Estate to help reach my goals. I have just started the Ultimate Beginners Guide and will be building my business plan for my first deal, and future deals, throughout the next 2 months.

Thank you in advance,

Aaron

Good morning!

I am getting married on February 19, 2021. I have never bought a home. If I used an FHA loan before I got married, could my soon to be wife use another FHA loan after we got married? She has never bought a home either.

p.s. new to real estate and seeking mentor. Let’s connect!

Thank you!

Aaron
