Thank you for explaining that. I want to consider in Minneapolis, and not just suburbs, if I could somehow get around that issue. But it doesn’t sound so bad after all.

Thank you for responding. Someone here just pointed out that the proposal that the City Of Minneapolis has on the table to cap rent increases, Is it apparently illegal under Minnesota State Law. So for now it seems to maybe not be moving forward?

Thanks John. My criteria are blue collar areas, not downtown Mpls / St Paul, but maybe Minneapolis or first or second ring suburbs? B or C buildings? Any thoughts? Or is that still too general?

Thank you Tim. And thanks so much for meeting with me awhile back. I'm slightly further along in figuring out what type of investment property I'm looking for and would love to catch up with you. Did you find a buyer for your I think you said, was a few duplexes, or smaller buildings, so you could focus on your syndication?

I’m concerned about Minneapolis’s rent increase restrictions going into effect soon. I’m a new investor, trying to pick an area ( or areas) within 30-60 minutes from my St Louis Park home, outside Mpls boundary, I think, to buy apartments 50 doors or less. Does anyone who knows this area, have advice for me? Probably b or c properties, in blue collar areas.

Andrew, thanks so much for sharing your story  and best of luck to you in your job with the new builder developer. If you need innovative land planning to give you an edge in land development, drive through Viera’s Trasona section. We planned it, there are many advantages to the design.
