Yes she let us in for the inspections and we called her later about an hour before Hubzu auction was done.  I could have placed a bid on Hubzu but thought that it would be better to have the agent place the offer being it was all cash offer.  I called the listing agent and they acted as if Hubzu was the only way to make an offer...he wasn't real interested.  We'll see if it falls thru...

I was able to get a couple of GC's out to a 4bd 1ba SFH to get estimate...still waiting on the bids. The house looks good for the most part, needs new roof, kitchen and bath remodel and maybe new furnace. Tried to get my agent to submit an offer but she is gone for the weekend and the bank (REO prop.) has an offer they are waiting for the buyer to get back from a bid on Hubzu. So any ideas on how to get this house tied up? I know these auction sites bids/offers seem to fall thru frequently on the REO's.

Why don't you pay to have the utilities turned on and then get an inspection. You usually have 7-10 days to inspect and then if you don't like it you can cancel and get your earnest money back. Why didn't you call the utility company and ask to get it turned on? I hope you got a good price because it sound like a lot of work.
