I want to house hack to kick off my investing portfolio, but am unsure of the route to take or if it even works well in the Dallas area.

Thank you,

I've looked at all of the large RE companies such as Keller Williams and eXp, but I want to do this part time for now and keep my current job until I'm comfortable enough to leave. Right now, I work about 20-30 hours, so I have plenty of time to do RE. My goal right now is to learn as much as possible under the right broker. Please let me know if anyone knows a great broker in the Dallas area that has a big emphasis on investing. Thanks!

@Kelly Claiborne

For me, it’s a little bit of all of the above. I’m about to get married as well so just a little scared to invest right now since it’s not just me to take care of anymore. I need to analyze more deals and get a better feel for things. I just don’t want to get into paralysis by analysis. Trying to take daily action to get the things above though!

@Chris Seveney

Thanks for reaching out, Chris! I haven’t been educated on notes yet, but I will definitely dive deeper into it.

Thanks for the tip!

@Kyle Spearin thanks for reaching out! I will look into the house hacking. I’m honestly not quite sure yet whether to go passive or more investment side of things. I will start my real estates license in Texas soon. I’m about to get married in July and we don’t have a primary residence yet. Currently both renters. Wife is going to start travel nursing in September, so trying to make the best decisions for our future. I’m tend to think on the safe side with my money too much, so buying a property is scary for me plus as a coach/instructor I don’t make that much money at the moment. I know that’s a lot, but I would love to know your thoughts!

Right now, I'm trying to find my niche. As I dive deeper, I'm starting to notice it is much better if I am locked in one place. So far, I am mainly interested in single/multifamily homes. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!
