My 1st Flip/Vision
This is my first attempt at Blogging. So I ask whoever reads this please bear with me as this will be a learning experience for all of us. However, what I hope to accomplish is to help me stay accountable to myself as it relates to my REI business of Flipping houses. Also my biggest hope is that it will help to promote what I have done good and help others to learn through the good things but more importantly to learn from the things I did wrong and hopefully you can learn from my mistakes so you don't have to go through that yourself when you find yourself in similar situations. So here we go, let's take this journey together!
I purchased my very first investment property a little less than a month ago. It truly is the ugliest house on the block. Of course, I intend to change that and make it one of the nicer ones on the block (still to be seen!) When I made the decision to jump in and get my feet wet in the RE world I decided that it was important to me to make a go at this on my own. Now, I know that I will get a lot of backlash from everyone that says you should have a team and get help in all aspects of the business, especially as a NEWBIE. I don't disagree with any of that as that is most certainly sound logic. However, my reason in my mind is that it will force me to become good or at least functional in most if not all aspects of this REI thing. What do I mean by that? Well, I guess my thoughts are that in order for me to understand this REI world I need to go through failure in order to succeed. The best lessons learned are the hardest ones. Typically when you mess something up or you do something wrong it generally is a self correcting issue to never be replicated again, and rightly so. So I feel in order to be good and successful at something you need to face adversity and hardship (so long as that adversity and hardship doesn't sink you) but coming in to this I mentally prepared myself for knowing it won't be easy and as a matter a fact it is going to be very difficult going at it alone. So for clarification purposes let me define what I mean by doing it myself. I don't want to ask anyone for $ to help me with building this business as I feel it is important to take calculated risk with my own $ first and make sure that in the event I do lose $ doing this it is mine and nobody else is at risk. It will be proof of concept that it works and then when I am able to prove that it does work I can take what I have done with my own $ and use that as creditably (street cred) to hopefully partner with private lenders so that I can make them a good return on their investment and I in turn will be able to scale my business at a much faster rate.
I just realized that this is supposed to be about my 1st Flip and I have done nothing but write about my vision as to how I see this playing out eventually. Well, at the very least, I can now say that I started my own Blog! I will most definitely be doing a better job of blogging about my flip as that is the true reason I set out on this journey. Thanks for stopping in and more to come on the flip I promise. Have a GR8 day! Here is to wishing you success in your REI ventures!
