Boise, Idaho: Flying to New Heights!

Let’s talk travel.  Even though we think that Boise is so awesome you’ll never want to leave… we do understand that trips to and from Boise will happen.  Whether for business or pleasure, the Boise Airport makes traveling a piece of cake!

Here is a breakdown from the Boise Chamber of Commerce that shows you how long it takes in other cities to get from the airport to their downtown.

John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City – 111 minutes
LaGuardia Airport, New York City – 69 minutes
Los Angeles International Airport – 73 minutes
Denver International Airport – 58 minutes
Boise Airport – 15 minutes (not too shabby, right?!)

In the most recent survey, 60% of individuals at the Boise Airport were traveling for pleasure and 40% were traveling for business.  The Boise Chamber of Commerce believes that their 20 nonstop locations, new hotels being built, and expanding the downtown convention center, will add to the individuals who will be coming here for business purposes.

Two years ago, the current concessions at the airport were taken into consideration.  BOI wanted the airport concessions to properly reflect the individuality of Boise by showcasing local products and businesses.  Since then, national franchises have been removed and they have added some of the Boise local’s favorite eateries like Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery and 13th Street Pub & Grill.

In 2015, more than 3 million passengers traveled through airport.  With over 5,000 acres available for expansion, the Boise Airport is ready at any time to grow their passenger capacity to more than 6 million a year.

Another great part of the Boise airport, short lines.  You aren’t going to be waiting for hours and hours to get your bags checked and through security like you would at a larger airport.
