The Frustrations of A New Investor
Real estate investing can be one of the most exciting forms of wealth building you can do. By no means am I any kind of investing guru, but I've dabbled in several different kinds of investing and REI has been a blast. While I've really enjoyed the experience of real estate investing so far, I'm hitting a period of frustration.
Dave and I have been going at this thing for over a year now, and really, we've had very little success overall. We've had a ton of little successes from generating leads, to establishing relationships, to buying our first rental. We just can't seem to get over the hump, and it's really getting annoying to be honest. We just can't seem to get a deal to workout.
Which bears the question, "What are we missing?" I've been asking myself that every day recently. I read about some other investors and talk to some local investors in our area. The way they handle themselves and their business is mind blowing to me, yet they're killing it and we're not. I'm just at a point where I'm starving for information to figure this bad boy out. We certainly don't plan on quitting, but it'd be great to get a paycheck!
For all of you other newbies out there, what do you feel like you need to work on? I've been trying to step back a lot more and look at what we're doing, and where the break in the chain could be. It can be a challenge to analyze your own habits and strategies sometimes.
What can you do today that would help your business improve?
