How Do You Market Differently to Attract Boat & RV Renters?

When you have both a self-storage facility and a boat and RV Storage Facility, you need to make sure that you are marketing to each group of renters. You are trying to reach a completely different demographic for each type of storage. If you combine your advertising, you may find that you miss both targets completely.

The most important thing that you need to advertise is how easy it is to store with you. Many of these people may have just purchased their first recreational vehicle. They may not have any idea how to drive an RV or tow a boat. In addition, they are going to be lending those to friends and family. You want to show them how easy it is to get in and out of your facility, so they aren’t worried about anyone getting in an accident, including themselves.

You also need to show them how safe their new toy is. Show them all of your security measures. You want to show them your gated front gate and your secure fences and your camera’s that record. Show them why someone can’t just come in and take their boat instead of their own. Show them that your gate codes are safe so that no one can get into the lot unless they should be there. This is a great time to talk about your tenant screening process. Show them how that extensive process is to reduce internal thefts. This will make them feel better about subjecting themselves to that intense screening process. If you can make them feel safe, then they will feel better about renting with you.

Unless you want a boat and RV facility that is filled with old vehicles and looks a little rundown, you need to be marketing to people with nice, brand new boats, or nice, brand new RVs. These are the types of people that you are trying to attract to your storage facility. In order to lure those renters in, you need to make sure that you have pictures on your website that reflect the types of vehicles that you want to attract.

You also need to remember that most people have a place in mind to store their boat or RV. You need to convince them that you are the better option. You also need to make sure that you are marketing to people who are moving in from out of the area. These people are looking for a place and you want to show them that you are the best. You also want to make sure that you are advertising to brand new buyers. This is why you are going to go to events. It is a way to attract people who haven’t already made up their minds.

Never advertise without a call to action. People need to be told what to do. If you don’t tell them to reserve their spot now before it is gone, what will keep them from going on to the next website. If you don’t tell them to look at your security measures to show how secure you are, they may not realize how important that is to them. Always invite them to click to get more information. This way you can capture their contact information. Your job is to follow up.

Your marketing needs to show people why they will be happiest working with you and renting at your self-storage facility. Focus on the things that will attract your demographic. As always, happy investing.
