If You Do Not "Get" Twitter........
I hope that by creating this blog post, I can help those in the BP community who are struggling with the concept that is Twitter!
The #1 issue I am seeing is that entrepreneurs do not fully understand the POWER Twitter has because of the way it started. (I am sitting down.....I am drinking coffee....I love waffles.....ect.....)
It might help to look at Twitter more as a tool where you can lead people to your business along the lines of Google SEO and/or pay per click models.
Twitter's value comes from giving you the ability to drive traffic to your website/blog/property listings. People want to work with those they like and know. Twitter allows this to happen 140 characters at a time!
You must create value for your followers, but be careful not to use it as a tool to spam. (Remember, it is social networking, not social advertising!)
A few Tweets a day can make a big difference. (10-15 minutes)
Here are a few ideas:
- Let people know what you are doing, and what your interest are. It does not always need to be about business. HAVE FUN!
- Announce your new blog post! (This is really your ultimate goal!)
- Do you have a new listing/investment property to offer? Use TweetLister and let everyone know about it!
- Have you read a great book, SHARE IT!
- Did you find a website that might be valuable to others, SHARE IT!
- Follow Harrison Painter on Twitter :)
There are so many ways to create value for others, and in return it will drive traffic to you.
I hope these few ideas help.....Twitter has improved my business, and I am confident it can improve yours too!
Have a Profitable Day Everyone!

Twitter is becoming a decent way to connect for me. I've been able to find a really good web developer on twitter. It's to Mr. Harrison Painter never followed me back so I had to delete him from the @motiv8td followed list :(

I have been using Twitter for a few months now and have created some great relationships. I love the search feature to keep up to date. I get a lot of news using it. I will check you both out there! Tweet-tweet @CreativeFinance

Twitter is certainly all about the conversation. I wish I had more time to engage there, but I'm busy keeping you ruffians in check ;) here on BP. Seriously, it is a great tool, and I encourage everyone not there to jump on board, follow Harrison, and of course, follow @BiggerPockets and me, @jrdorkin.
