Why I Do Not Manage My Own Properties Anymore.

I have my own property management company, but do not manage my own properties.

Why?

Emotion

One of the first things you learn as an investor is that your emotions will crush you!

For example:

- Too excited/aggressive/desperate and you make bad decisions!

- Too angry and you create liability!

- Too conservative and you miss opportunity!

I found it extremely difficult not to let emotions play into my own investments. Real Estate investing is just that, a business, and there is no room for emotions. Decisions need to be made quickly, and professionally, in order to succeed.

At Gladiator Real Estate Group, I create/manage winning portfolios for investors every single day. I quickly found managing my own properties to be a conflict of interest, especially when I had a vacancy. Human nature leads us to fulfill our own selfish interests first, and since my entire business model is working in the best interest of others, I felt it best not fight this inner battle.

Growing up I always heard that a Doctor should never perform surgery on a family member, as the closeness could cloud judgment. I also learned that when a detective has a personal interest in a case they are working on, they are released from the investigation.

These are two lessons I have applied to my real estate investment company, and strongly believe that my business is stronger, and I make clients more profitable for it!

Have a Profitable Day Everyone!
