The SOLAR Plunge

Normal 1458269939 2016 03 17 13

Hey Sunshine! I just significantly increased the value of my home and did something to reduce smog at the very same time.

After years of seriously wanting to take the SOLAR plunge, the Theobalds finally did it today.

The federal and state tax credits (about 30%) make it doable with ZERO out of pocket funds. And with the help of the solar company, we got financed at just 6% and our payments match our average bill of the last 12 months. Our new solar array pumps sweet electrons back into the grid and we get a credit on our bill each month. In the winter we are a net consumer, but in the summer we rock!

After several years we will come out way ahead, but for now we are thrilled to reduce our carbon footprint.

  1. I love my panels from Brio Solar, but after doing more research, I determined I could have saved some money by going with a different company.  I broke my own multiple-bid rehab rule!   Please let me know if you are in Utah and want solar panel info, and I can direct you to a less expensive option.
