Integrity

Integrity is a personal character trait that shows up in business every day. Some people have more of it than others. What I have found is that when you first get into real estate investing you want everything under contract and signed because you are scared someone will go around you and cut you out. The more successful you become, you bump into other successful people. You will notice that the larger the investor, normally the higher level of integrity they posses. Their reputation is everything to them and even though they sign contracts, they are more of a formality. You will find less integrity at the part time investment level as those people with little integrity will never ascend beyond the reputation they have created for themselves. Hold yourself to a higher standard because your integrity warrants it.
