When To Quit Your Job For Full Time Real Estate

Determining when you can give up your steady pay check to enter a world that only pays you when you close deals or collect rent can be a very hard transition. It should also not be taken lightly. If you leave your day job too early in order to go into full time real estate, you risk not having enough real estate business to sustain yourself and then burning through your saving just to wind up back in a day job. You probably will also have a bad taste in your mouth left over from the stress of jumping into real estate too soon. Most people that try it convince themselves the timing is right when in reality they are not holding on long enough before making the jump. If you have a day job now, prepare to burn the candle at both ends before you leave your day job for real estate investing. This means working nights and weekends on your real estate business while during the day you put in the hours to pay the bills with your 9-5. At some point, your current real estate income will be enough to live on or potentially exceed your day job. You will also recognize the fact that you have been able to make that money from real estate investing for many months and can safely say that you have proven that you can do it over and over. Once you are in this position, it might be a time to consider investing as a full time means to making a living. Doing it before this moment can certainly still be done, but the risk is very high as you are now depending on something you have not proven to yourself yet.
