It's been quite the busy month! I've already managed to neglect my blog and I had only written two. Actually, what I realized was that every week isn't going to be worth writing about. The other thing that I realized was, although that might be ok, going a whole month without anything to show for it, is not. For me anyway. If a week goes by and I don't have much to show for it I can chalk it up to something. Kids, work, life, name it. If an entire month passes without anything to show, maybe I need to look at why and adjust accordingly.
Outside of real estate it's been a pretty busy month. I read an article that said xx% of either veterans or retired veterans change their first job within 12 months. Keeping that number accurate. I didn't mind my last job, but it wasn't a great fit. Fortunately, I was approached by a recruiter and in less than two weeks I'm in my new position as contracted Engineer with the Air Force. If you'd like to read more about me/that, click here. I mentioned in my last blog that there would be no/little travel...I'll be in Georgia this week, then Spring Break with my boys, Florida the week after. Home for a week or so, then New Hampshire...
What I've done. I've been...kind of...reading...Getting Things Done...sort of. Ok, I haven't. I suck at sticking with books. But writing this helped me to refocus and I'm going to pick it back up. I made sure the audio book is available on my phone, and it's synced on my kindle for the plane ride(s). I also have 4 hour work week, e-myth and 10x. I've chugged through more podcasts and currently up to 138. I've talked about real estate, a lot. With my girlfriend, my friends, family, new boss. Not obsessively, but enough to say (sometimes to myself) this is what I'm doing. Doing so, I learned that my new boss invests and a parent that dropped of his son at a kids' party I hosted for my boys gave me a lead on a house about to come on the market. Networking, little by little.
One thing I liked out of one of the podcast I just listened to was the that the guest focused almost entirely on HUD and Auctions. I have the HUD site linked and am going to start "analyzing deals" for a little bit every night. My goal is to learn and create a habit. I believe it was @Brandon Turner that said to figure out how many deals you need to analyze a month, divide that up, and do that number every night or so.
So here's to adjusting, refocusing and keeping at it! Until next month!
