The Role Of A Realtor

Contain 800x800

While most buyers or sellers of real estate know what a real estate agent "does" for a living, I thought it would be wise for me to tell you how I feel about the career I embarked on 23 years ago this month here in Pittsburgh, PA. I received my real estate license September 8, 2001. I was all excited and ready to jump in. But I don't have to tell you what happened on September 11, 2001. Our world was totally shaken, our lives disrupted and our future seemed shattered. Somehow we got through the grieving and the pain...but we will never forget those we lost on that horrible day.

And of course my hopes for a quick ramp up into the world of real estate were interrupted as well. There were far more important matters to think about.

Fast forward to 2024. My real estate career continues to provide the satisfaction for me as I hoped for. And I've added my Mortgage Loan Originator license as well. (NMLS #2580708). Over the years I've learned more each day...exactly the challenge I was looking for. So why do I tell you these things? Sounds too self-promotional, doesn't it? Here's why. The role of the Realtor in all of this is EDUCATOR and PROTECTOR!

A Realtor does more than just showing and selling houses and investment properties including all of the scheduling, communication and paperwork involved in a transaction. By keeping current with the market, your Realtor can educate you on matters of real estate you don't have time to keep track of. We inform you about local market conditions to help you make the best decisions, whether you're thinking of buying or selling. And we expand our knowledge and services constantly to best serve you. It's imperative that we enhance our knowledge to expand on helping to guide our clients whether it's your personal residence or it's investments to expand your and your family's wealth. It's our job to be the most informed agent and consultant.

Realtors Protect Your Interests

But more importantly, I believe our primary job is to protect you from the pitfalls you may not be aware of that come down the road. Sure, it's exciting to look for your dream home or the next investment and plan for the future, but we must protect you all the way till you receive your keys. And we must be available to you after that big day. Sure we try to look for everything that can or could occur, but yes we may miss something. We create a team with people we know and trust to help protect you during this trying time as well: attorneys, lenders, inspectors, insurance providers, title agents and others who enhance our knowledge and add their specialties so that we perform our utmost to bring you the total service you require and deserve. Make sense? Have questions? Want to add your opinions? I welcome your comments and questions at any time!!
