Preparing for Offshore
So yesterday I found out I will be leaving to go offshore by the end of next week. Because I still plan to do my postcard mailers this weekend, I wanted to make sure I could get calls. I have a Google Voice number that forwards to my iPhone, but I didn't know if I could get calls with no cell phone signal. So after some research, I learned something new. Apparently with the new IOS update, there's now a option to enable wifi calling with certain cell phone carriers. Luckily, Sprint is one of them. If you go to your settings, then down to phone, there's a wifi calling option. Just turn it on and you're set. I plan on testing it before I leave, just to make sure. It's way harder to troubleshoot things when you're offshore.
My postcards arrived at the house yesterday, so my wife is forwarding those to me in Mobile, AL. I'm hoping to have the cards and the stamps by the weekend. I am literally just sitting here at work and doing nothing and getting paid, so I might as well use the time for real estate. I am going to get as much as I can done with my course and spend the weekend holed in my hotel room watching TV and movies and addressing and stamping postcards.
I have two people who are potential options for meeting with homeowners from my mailers and to take pictures for me. One is my niece. She's not actually related, but she thinks of me as her uncle. The other is a high school friend who is in need of extra money. I probably won't bring it up until I actually get some calls, but at least I have options.
Things should start getting more interesting in the coming weeks. At least I hope.
