You Won't Get a "Deal" Right Away BUT You Will Start Dealing...

I think a lot of us new investors think we are supposed to get a deal right away. Like, an actually home under contract or flip a home within the first few months of "becoming an investor". Well, that is highly unlikely. And no, you are not doing anything wrong. 

I caught myself wondering why I haven't done any deals yet. I asked myself over and over "what are you doing wrong Yas?" 

The truth is, I am doing something. I am doing a lot of things. I am constantly reaching out to new people, looking into my market trying to get a feel, asking questions, sending out direct mail and I have already given out 1/3 of the business cards I purchased (I purchased them a week ago)! Don't get discouraged, it will happen! 

Received my first call from my direct mail campaign yesterday, the guy turned out to be a little crazy. Asking 200K for a home worth MAYBE 100K if we get lucky. He wasn't motivated BUT hey, I got a call and called him back even though I was terrified. And guess what? I didn't die like I thought I was going to. Now I can't wait for my phone to ring again. 

I managed to put one friend of mine (I consider him a friend now, we actually met here on BP) in contact with another friend/partner/coach who was willing to partner with him on a home he was trying to close on. If I hadn't have started conversation, stayed in touch or spoke with these two individuals I would not have been able to build good enough relationships for them both to trust my word or recommendation t do business with one another.

I have also learned so much over the past month or so by just telling people what I do and putting it ALL over my social media sites, letting my co workers know, strangers know..EVERYONE. I guess you can consider it as a way to build momentum... And guess what I had to pay the people I have met here on BP for their time and insight?

Go ahead guess...

Yup that's right..NOTHING. They talk to me for free, we just talk like humans, share ideas exchange thoughts. Crazy right? I know!

So I guess what I am trying to say is keep at it! Make sure you do something RE related every single day. Talk to everyone about what it is that you are trying to do. Don't be afraid to speak up or approach someone that is doing well in the business, we are all human and the absolute worst thing that can happen is they don't want to talk to you.
