

Day 53. Wow Day 53 already?!?!
So a few things to catch up on. Some good actions taken but I have not done that elusive first deal yet.
On 6/1/2015 I went to the REIA meeting and it went great! I got the chance to expand my network and actually chat with a few experienced investors at a restaurant after the meeting for a few hours. I learned more during that time than all of my self study and I've been looking forward to the next REIA ever since. One thing I did realize, however, was how important it was that I did my self education. It allowed me to follow the conversation and ask questions that really propelled my understanding forward.
Things have been changing with my company that I work with and we've lost a huge account giving us some instability as far as how our future may go. I've been putting in twice the amount of hours and even though I'm getting paid for it I can't shake the feeling that I'm building another person's dream and helping to provide financial security for someone else, and at the end of the day, if they closed the doors, what would I have to show for it?
I'm making a declaration!!!!!! By 7/22/15 I will do my first RE Deal!!!!!
So what am I going to do to make this happen?
I've adjusted my website to make it more conducive for a seller to post their info there.

I've set up a facebook business page and invited everyone I know to like it and put myself out there as a RE Investor looking to BUY HOUSES NOW! FAST AND FAIR!

Now the big dilemma and the whole point of this venture......where do I find the deals? I've been on listsource.com and for absentee owners there was a listing of about 978 in my zipcode and this cost about $78 to purchase. The marketing with yellow letters looks to be about 77 cents per letter. So roughly $753.06.......wow. I didn't expect that much for the marketing campaign. I know marketing is a huge deal. I'll have to do some convincing on my wife with that.

I will be purchasing some WE BUY HOUSES signs as well from buildasign.com. 3 signs to place on my truck for $60 and 5 signs to place around town for $50.
So let's do the math for the first road of marketing:
Seller List $ 78
Mailers $ 753
Signs $ 110
Total $ 941
Not the number that I wanted to see, but if it's necessary its necessary. Definitely looking for any free way to get my name and brand out there!
