Beware of the BP vultures

The first question that came to mind when you read the title probably is:

What is a BP vulture?

A BP vulture is any member who sits back and waits to collect cash from BP newbies while contributing nothing to the forum. There are many vendors on here that do it, but since I am a REALTOR I will focus on how to recognize a BP vulture real estate agent :)

1. Their post count is under 1K

BP vulture real estate agents are not consistent so that means they come and go in irregular intervals. This leads to a very low post count because they are not contributing to the forum on a regular basis.

Do you want a person that is not consistent working for you?

I believe that what someone does with the small things they do with the big. So if they cannot even be consistent to post in a forum on a regular basis, why would they be consistent in anything else in their life?

2. Their forum replies have no substance.

They say things like. " I would be happy to assist you" "I work with investors all the time" "Please send me your email and I will send you a list of homes"

Translation-

I really don't know enough to contribute to this forum thread, but I really want a check so please give me your email so I can spam you to death with template emails I got off the internet

Sounds harsh, but hey it's the truth. Most agents I have met are looking for an easy check. They are not passionate about real estate. They want to send you a list of homes, do as little work as possible, and close a deal so they can move on to the next. They only care about the money.

I wanted to make this a quick post because I saw some vultures out this morning. Those are the 2 biggest indicators of a BP vulture if you want to discuss further I am happy to answer questions. Leave your comments below!

  1. Thank you Brandon. I am new here and want to learn. I want to be confident in what I am learning but without having experience it feels theoretical. Thanks for the heads up.
