Throw caution to the wind.
I was reading the blog post by Ben Leybovich and a few of the quotes really affected me. If you read my first blog post , you'll know that every day I read the following quote, "You can make money and you can make excuses, but not both".
Ben goes on to write that the capability of being successful is by hitting the gas pedal. Having gas in the tank (knowledge in the brain) isn't enough. He states that purposeful Action is indeed the driver of success, not the amount of gas in the tank!
Life is not about being able and willing to learn more – it is about taking action in spite of not knowing everything!
Lack of continued persistent action is the chief reason for failure, even for those who know everything…
I'm currently taking persistent action by sending 2 letters a day to targeted residences that I'm finding. Ben states a few reasons for inaction and one that I've personally been struck with before. He states that a reason is the fear of not having a steady paycheck, however mine is a bit different.
I do the marketing, I have the websites, I write the letters. However, when my t-mobile budget deal-phone rings it strikes fear into my heart. What if I don't know the answer? What if I get in a position where I don't know what to do next? Should I just let voice mail pick up? I basically have a fear of failure.
I can't tell you the number of calls I have let go to voice mail. Finally, I'm to the point where I realize I'm just throwing potential money out the window. I force myself to answer that phone every time it rings. I still have huge anxiety when it rings, but I force myself to answer. I don't know the answers or how to help some of the folks who call, but at least I'm getting the experience.
I'm going to keep taking persistent action and throwing caution to the wind. Great blog post Ben.
