First Half Progress Toward 2017 Goals
June recently ended. Half of the year is over. Hard to swallow, but time to check in on progress on my 2017 goals.
I embraced the word ENOUGH for this year. There are a ton of things I’d like to do, but my W-2 job continues to suck the life out of me, so small steps are going to be enough this year.
My specific goals:
- Teach financial literacy.
- Two maintenance inspections.
- Finish reading Brandon's landlording books. A chapter a week is not enough.
- Deal with two overgrown trees and pompous grass at properties.
- Attend 3 local BP meet-ups.
- My progress to date:
- Preparation for teaching Dave Ramsey. Have a syllabus, the material broken down into weeks, a format for the handouts, and a ton of related articles saved in Pinterest.
- One maintenance inspection complete, the other turned into a tenant turnover which will wrap up in the next month.
- Brandon’s books are read and I’m almost ready to pass them along to another eager investor.
Decided not to do the pompous grass this year, tackled the overgrown plum tree one weekend, have a bid for removal of the other tree, and also got a third tree pruned.
Made it to one meet-up in May, will keep working on two more. With an hour drive they don’t quite feel local.
Continued slow and steady progress, it’s enough!
