Review: The Book on Managing Rental Properties

Normal 1498871890 51 Z Eqg B5 Bm L

Finished up Brandon and Heather’s book, The Book on Managing Rental Properties.

One of my favorite things was seeing his website, www.brandonturner.me. I’ve been considering something similar, so it was great to see something in practice.

I like their lease example, it looks really clean. And this was the first time I’ve actually seen an estoppel agreement.

I was surprised at home strict their requirements were. Must have a valid SSN. Three times rent. In our low rent income area we would not get qualified applicants with those standards. I liked his clause about “bed sheets or other similar objects may not be used as curtains or window coverings”.

And I’m going to borrow their new tenant acceptance letter, I liked that.

The by state guidelines in the back of the book are handy too.

Enjoyed the book, plenty to consider even as a seasoned landlord. Now what to read next…
