What are RTA Cabinets?

One area that landlords or other rehabbers may not know about is "RTA Cabinets".  RTA stands for "ready to assemble".  RTA cabinets are generally all plywood kitchen (and bathroom) cabinets -- rather than particle board.

When you order the cabinets, they are delivered to you in boxes and you (or someone you know) put them together.  They are very easy to assemble; the only tool you need is a screwdriver.

The end result does look very professional, but the difference is that you pay a fraction of the cost of completely assembled cabinets because you are doing some of the work yourself.
