More Memphis Bad Behaviour

I talked a while ago HERE about wholesalers misbehaving in my city. Now a high profile conveyancing attorney has been indicted for providing false closing docs to a lender to defraud the lender LINK.

I have had plenty go wrong in my career including bankruptcy, dishonest business partners and deals going very wrong.

And I can understand the temptation to try and make a problem go away by fudging something, but being tempted and crossing federal law lines is a huge jump.

In New Zealand and here in the USA I have seen people go to jail in real estate in the name of a dishonest almighty dollar.

But I have never understood the need to behave illegally just to make more money.

I would rather walk from a deal if it is grey rather than allow something dishonest to slip through.

Why do you think someone like an attorney would risk it all over a few thousand dollars?

So if you are a newbie and haven't had the adrenalin of a big win yet can I encourage you to decide what your rules are now while it is theory.

1. If it isn't right then it's wrong.

2. If in doubt don't do it

3. I don't have to be a liar or a prick to be successful.

4. Dishonest business people or partners cannot be trusted to be honest with me if they     are being dishonest somewhere else.

5. Spending an honest dollar made is much more fun than a bent one.
