Your 9-5 Pays Your Bills and Your 5-9 Builds Your Wealth

When I started investing 12 years ago I had a w2 job lots of debt and no money to buy anything, my reality was all I could do was pay bills and live paycheck to paycheck like the rest of the world, until one day talking to one of my friends he introduced me to Dave Ramsey then I was instantly hooked on getting out of debt and enjoying the freedom it can give you. Freedom was one of the whys that I started investing and the other one is to spend most of my time with family and friends and not having to chase a job for money until I was  old enough to retire and collect a small social security check. Getting out of debt became top priority for me but the only problem was how was I going to make this happen working a 9-5. When was listening to Dave I would here people call into him with all their debt stories and how they worked side jobs to pay off their debts, I heard stories of people working on the weekends and late in the evening to earn extra money to apply to their debts and help them on their path to financial independence. This is when I had my I've had it moment as Dave would say, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired of struggling in the rat race living pay check to pay check. I was so tired of struggling that I even signed Annie and I up to volunteer at a Dave Ramsey event in Nashville, this is when I had my first taste of freedom and not having to go home on a certain day and go back to work and I loved it. I actually started investing years earlier and I struggled badly because of all my money issues so when I realized getting out of debt would benefit my life much more than embracing debt I jumped in with both feet.
I started working on my side business of house flipping in the evenings and weekends while everyone else was at home at 5 I was just starting another half day of work till late in the evening and on the weekends to help my pay off lots of debts from credit cards and bad choices of borrowing money, this path has helped me realize how bad of an idea debt is and how hard it is to get out. The credit card companies know that most people are bad with money and they will make a fortune off the interest you pay them every month by carrying a balance on your credit cards.I heard Dave tell someone once that you can't win playing in someone elses sand box so go play in your own sandbox, in other words you are playing a dangerous game with debt that is easy to get into and will take most people many years to get out of, not to mention when you are only paying minimum payments on credit cards or paying minimums on car payments by the time its paid for the companies know you will do the same thing over and over and spend your whole life tied to debt until you pass away or you leave the debts for your kids to deal with, this does not have to be you or me or anyone else you just have to choose you want more for your life than be like everyone else As Dave would say you are looking at weird people and weird needs to be the new normal.
Working your butt off in the evening and weekends can change your life but its not easy and it takes a lot of sacrifice, if a better life is what you dream of know that you can make it happen.
