The importance of social media marketing in business is undeniable and that’s why it is necessary to hire the right person to manage the company’s social media accounts. One of the most common mistakes that companies are making is thinking that just anybody with basic media knowledge could handle this job, but when it comes to actual duties of social media manager, you will understand that not everything is as simple as it seems:

1. Coming up with the social media marketing plan.

This means understanding the business, exploring the market, considering how high or low is the competition and creating a plan of how to advertise the business on social platforms, where to advertise and what type of audience to target.

    2. Creating content.

Obviously, but not just any type of content. Social media manager has to constantly check the statistics, see which type of content is getting more attention, which suits the company they are working for more, stay active and be creative to gain attention.

      3. Gaining costumers.

Well, isn’t this why we are promoting on social media in the first place? Social media managers should have good communication skills, always be able to help customers, educate first-time buyers, leave a good impression and encourage users to try the company’s services or products.

        4. Having an experience of managing advertising tools.

Different social platforms like Facebook or Instagram have special business tools to help you advertise and manage your business easier. Knowing how all of them work is the main duty of social media managers since they are the keys to success.

At the end of the day, the social media manager’s duties aren’t limited to only the listed things above and it depends on what the employer asks them to do, but these sure are the main requirements for any social media manager.
