Tips on Getting your Real Estate License in Florida
I've been asked by several friends and people interested in getting their license how to go about it. As a very new agent as of March 2019, here is the route I took to pass the exam, get set up as an agent, and join the local realtor organizations.
There are many online real estate schools to choose from. I picked this one at the recommendation of my very experienced realtor & am glad I did for these reasons:
- I passed the first time!
- The course is not timed online (you don’t have to wait and wait to click to the next section!)
- You get to download the materials and study at your own pace
- After I met David Collins at a post license class I was especially glad I took his course. He teaches some of the mandatory CPAR classes locally you will need after getting your license. David is not only a fantastic instructor, but very passionate about what he does so a pleasure to learn from.

Register for the sales associate course (internet only) for $99.00 - Cram for 2 weeks - the course is 20 chapters. Read it, do the online course and pass the final exam with a 70% pass rate. I took pages & pages of notes, but the sections to focus mainly on are listed here in order of importance:
The exam has 100 multiple choice questions with 3 and ½ hours to complete. You must have a passing grade of 75 to pass. You will only get a Pass or Fail notice - not an actual grade after testing.
When you get bored with the not so captivating material on the FREC & regulatory agencies & structure of real estate in Florida watch this guy because he’s so pretty (thus inspirational) :)

Submit fingerprints to the DBPR via this process:
- Do this as soon as you register for the online school. It will take a week or two to process.
Register for the test via Pearson Vue: https://home.pearsonvue.com/
- Dothan is the closest test center
- Set your exam date to give yourself a deadline
- Knock it out of the park!
Once you have your license, schedule a meeting with me to learn why I chose World Impact Real Estate after interviewing numerous real estate companies. :) They have NO COMMISSION SPLITS making this one of the best organizations for realtors - especially new agents or part-times realtors. There is no floor time, no mandatory meetings, no headaches. If you are a self starter, capable of learning independently through CPAR, and like making money - this is the brokerage for you!

Post License:
You will need to join the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors:

- This is where you get MLS info and post license training. They will automatically enroll you for 4 mandatory classes after you join.

Another fantastic organization to learn from the leaders in the local real estate community & top producers is the Women’s Council of Realtors:
